Carpe Diem, #8 phantom

Today another seize the day. In Dutch we say 'pluk de dag' it's a phrase we use often and there are several houses with Carpe Diem as name. Lovely idea.

The Phantom of the Opera was a wonderful musical written by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It's the longest-running show on Broadway. What's it and what's it about?

Winner of seven 1988 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Andrew Lloyd Webber's masterwork is a timeless story of seduction and despair. Set at the Paris opera house, a beautiful soprano becomes the obsession of a mysterious, disfigured musical genius.

It's a haunting love story and 'The Phantom' is translated in several languages also in Dutch. Here in The Netherlands it was performed on stage in 1993 and produced by Joop van den Ende Theaterproductions. It was a great success, but not as successful as 'The Phantom' on Broadway.

The prompt for today is phantom. Write a haiku (classical or non-classical e.g. in Kanshicho-style) and share it here on Carpe Diem, seize the day. This prompt will be on 'till October 9th 11.59 AM (CET). The prompt for October 9th is willow and will be published on October 8th around 10.00 PM (CET).

Have fun and enjoy writing haiku.

See you tomorrow for a new Carpe Diem, seize the day.
